CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) is once again offering a free training course to be presented as a series of three classes on January 7, 14, & 21, 2011 from 8am to 4:30pm at AV College. To sign up call CERT at (661) 722-6300. Email CERT.
Join the Quartz Hill library every Wednesday from 1/5 - 2/23 for toddler and pre-school story time from 10:30am - 11:15am. Adult supervision required. For more information call (661) 943-2454.
The Ridgecrest Boy Scout Troup 848 is having it's annual Christmas Tree Pickup Friday December 31st and Saturday, January 8th in the mornings. Call 760-382-7540 for information, voluntary donations will be accepted.

The city of Palmdale is sponsoring a blood drive with the American Red Cross, January 11th, 9am-3pm. All donors receive a coupon for Cold Stone Creamery, a voucher for 2 Clippers tickets, and will be entered to win a vacation get-away package.
